About

Filed under: Cumulus Thoughts — Stormwaj @ 9:04 pm

I was born in Johnstown, PA to a wonderful mother and an amazing father who just happened to be thirty years her senior.  My father died when I just 4 years old, leaving my mother to raise six trying children.  We moved from Johnstown to Augusta, GA so that mom could be with her family.  Actually, our move to Augusta wasn’t supposed to be a move, according to what we were told; it was supposed to be a vacation, one from which we never returned.

Although I was born a city boy, I was raised in the south, and I didn’t leave the region-except for trips-until I moved to Misawa, Japan.  I’ve been here with my wife and six children (yes six) since 2004, and if my wife doesn’t exercise he power of veto, I will retire here.

My dream is to write from 9 to 5; however, dreams do not pay the bills.  Consequently, I spend most of my days in the classroom, trying to inspire the next generation of scientists and mathematicians.

Maybe one day, my text will be my classroom, but until then, I will divide my few free moments of the day between pecking away on my laptop and studying Japanese.
